Benedict Asuncion's Life Photography

It's 1:24 am in the morning and I realized that this is my only free time since I started to work and take my graduate studies. Now, It's 1:51 am and I realized that this is not actually a free time because I'm supposed to be sleeping.

So there's something about this typing sign. I feel like it's blinking faster than the usual. It's as if it's telling me that there's only 2 more weeks left before 2014 and you might want to write a last post for your 2013 blog. But this is not the last, maybe second to last for this year. This post is dedicated for photography appreciation.

It’s been a year since I was first introduced to the camera. It’s always been clear to me that I’m not model material and so I never dreamed of becoming one. But just like Cinderella’s wish, I also wanted to see myself in another way that I usually do even for once. There enters the real life God mothers who will point their magic wand at you and they are called photographers.

The best part of humble photo shoots is that you get to meet great photographers along the way. And today I will feature one, who did not only know his craft but mastered the art of it.

I met Benedict Asuncion at a shoot last summer. When I saw him, he looks very simple. I must say he’s really friendly by the way he walks in and speaks to everyone effortlessly. There is no doubt if he’s always the favorite of models because of how he keeps healthy friendships with them. 

Sure I've heard good comments about his photography. I also saw his name as a contributing photographer of a magazine. That summer shoot, I was just conscious about my height and outfit but he directed me on how to pose and I really appreciated that. I immediately trusted his instructions and the outcome was one of my all-time favorites.

Mr. Benedict is a very versatile artist. He knows how to work angles and expressions. He can play with different treatments depending on how it will best suit his model. His style ventures on classic fashion and sexy elegance. Although his models are mostly female, he can also do great shots for men.

   This is just a quick shoot with the model but don't you feel the intensity of the photograph?

                          Aside from beautiful models, he also photographs celebrities.

He was able to bring out the charming appeal for the model more than just focusing on a hot hunk image. This is a perfect mixture of lifestyle, fashion and personality.

                  Amazingly sexy with a class because of the beauty and classic color treatment.

Alluring. The angle, color of the dress, body gesture and even the strand of hair in the face of the model is perfectly combined in a frame that creates a very pleasing aesthetic.

Even if this is not an advertising poster, this photograph successfully made me want to buy her make up, necklace, dress and the cloth where she lays. Classic.

Aside from magazines, Benedict is also the man to call for debuts
